CareDB Cryptographic Evidence Packet (Sample Edition)
======================================================

Why This Matters:
-----------------
Marketing directories and data brokers scrape regulatory websites and mutate
raw records (correcting typos, collapsing historical downgrades, or fabricating
clean values). In M&A diligence, litigation, or regulatory compliance, mutated
data is legally inadmissible.

CareDB operates an append-only, fail-closed Evidence Vault.
Every record ingested from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Syndication API
and Companies House API is cryptographically hashed with SHA-256 at the exact
moment of observation.

Contents of This Evidence Packet:
---------------------------------
1. audit_manifest.json:
Machine-readable manifest listing all captured entities, their observation
   identifiers (e.g. cqc-obs-1-131481823), timestamps, and SHA-256 digests.

2. raw_evidence/cqc/:
Verbatim raw JSON payloads captured directly from CQC's official API for
sample care homes (including suspension notices, rating histories, and
   unmodified regulator typos like "Resdential").

3. raw_evidence/companies_house/:
Verbatim raw JSON snapshots captured directly from Companies House
(including active liquidation notices, unsatisfied mortgage charges, and
   corporate officer filings).

4. verify.sh:
Automated verification script to independently confirm that every byte in
raw_evidence/ mathematically matches the SHA-256 hashes published in the
   CareDB CSV files and audit_manifest.json.

How to Run Verification:
------------------------
Open a terminal in this directory and run:
  ./verify.sh

Or manually verify any file with standard CLI utilities:
  shasum -a 256 raw_evidence/cqc/1-456789123.json

Cross-Referencing with CareDB CSVs:
-----------------------------------
The SHA-256 hashes generated by verify.sh match the exact values in the
'cqc_payload_sha256' and 'ch_snapshot_sha256' columns of your CareDB CSV export.
